SUNDAY WORSHIP 10 am
AIM
The focus at Nepean Valley Church is to centre ourselves on God. For this reason we aim to have God-centred teaching and thus our worship is God focussed.

Reformed worship is God-centered. It focuses on the objective, what God has done in Christ for the salvation of sinners, applied by the Holy Spirit.

How is this different from other churches?
For some churches the focus can be on "me" and my personal problems. However, the world will never run out of 'self-help books' or people who will want to give you answers.

We believe that we find ourselves in God and the centre of Sunday Worship is to learn more about him. Not in an academic sense or chasing after information but believe that God is in the business of being transformational.

We believe that God has revealed his will and desire in His word (the Bible) and seek to dig deeply to understand what God is saying.

SONGS
When we meet we sing songs that span over a 1,000 years of Christian faith. In the world millions of songs have been written but few are still popular ten years later let alone five hundred years.

Those that last are hymns or songs that have touched the human soul with some measure of God's mercy and forgiveness. Thus, we include songs
that we consider classic rather than just because they are old.

BIBLE, SERMONS AND CONFESSION
When we meet we remind each other of the nature of God through a time of confession, Bible readings and the sermon. The aim of the sermon is to
take a passage of Scripture and see what it said to the first readers and
what does it say to us today.

CONFESSION?
Confession is time when we tell God that we are sorry for the sins we
have committed.

We start this section with a Bible reading that reminds us of some aspect
of God.

We then ask forgiveness and finish with Scriptures that remind us what
God has achieved this for us in Christ and that we are called to be holy.

PRAYER
Prayer begins with readings on who God is and then we share an open
time of prayer that is led by the service leader. This is a time to pray for mission, each other, our church and the community. We seek to share
and speak the heart of God.

COMMUNION (Lord's Supper)
We regularly share in communion to remind us of what God has done for
us through Jesus dying on the cross.

BAPTISM
We believe that baptism is a sign of being part of God's covenant and being in God's family. For an adult who accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour it
is also a sign of their repentance and turning and receiving new life in God
